Want to become a teacher in the Parent-Child Mother Goose Program® ?

First you’ll need training in the methods, the underlying ideas, and the materials of the program. All Parent-Child Mother Goose programs are run with two trained teachers.

This workshop will cover:

  • The Philosophy and Objectives of the Parent-Child Mother Goose Program®

  • The Materials of the Parent-Child Mother Goose Program®, including:

    • Rhymes – many examples of interactive rhymes; how they fit into the program, how to use interactive rhymes, and how to teach them to parents.
    • Songs – learn lullabies and dancing songs; when to use them and how to teach them in an enjoyable way.
    • Storytelling – why it’s an essential part of the program; how to learn and tell a story, and enjoy it!

  • The Logistics of how to run a Parent-Child Mother Goose Program® – from setting up a group to preparing the room, and welcoming participants, to saying good-bye.

Trainer

Beth Hutchinson had the good fortune to attend the first PCMGP training workshop in BC in May of 1997 and to lead in the first program starting in September 1997.  She liked the workshop, but the experience in the program thrilled her. She continued leading programs and became a trainer. In 2001, she became the Provincial Coordinator of the program, part time work that she held onto until December of 2015. She then joined the National Council of the program. Beth continues to be excited about the benefits this program brings and loves to introduce it to others.
