Want to become a teacher in the Parent-Child Mother Goose Program® ?

First you’ll need training in the methods, the underlying ideas, and the materials of the program. All Parent-Child Mother Goose programs are run with two trained teachers.

This workshop will cover:

• The Philosophy and Objectives of the Parent-Child Mother Goose Program®
   
• The Materials of the Parent-Child Mother Goose Program®, including:
   
  • Rhymes – many examples of interactive rhymes; how they fit into the program, how to use interactive rhymes, and how to teach them to parents.
  • Songs – learn lullabies and dancing songs; when to use them and how to teach them in an enjoyable way.
  • Storytelling – why it’s an essential part of the program; how to learn and tell a story, and enjoy it!
     
• The Logistics of how to run a Parent-Child Mother Goose Program® – from setting up a group to preparing the room, and welcoming participants, to saying good-bye.

About the Trainer

Moire Porter is a retired Early Childhood Educator with 45 years experience in a variety of child care programs, as well as a caregiver, parent supporter and educator. She has been teaching in the Parent-Child Mother Goose Program since 2000, and has been a Teacher Trainer since 2002. She was born and brought up in North Vancouver and has been living in Nanaimo for 50 years.
