Do you—or would you like to—work with young parents?


Join us for the only conference of its kind in BC that provides learning and connecting opportunities for professionals in young parent programs. The focus of this year's conference is emotional regulation and social-emotional wellness. Workshops will be provided to help practitioners working in young parent programs to further develop their understanding of social emotional development to help support young parents and their children to engage positively in the world.

Highlights:
  • Territorial acknowledgment by Elder Eugene Harry, followed by the conference opening and energizer
, "Self-Compassion: The Importance of Tending to Your Own Heart" by Angela Low
  • Morning session options include: 
    • Supporting Heart-Mind Well-Being, a Focus on Secure and Calm: A Dalai Lama Center workshop by Angela Low
    • Supporting Children’s Social Emotional Development by Kirsten Forestell, manager of SCD at NSNH
    • Visit to North Shore YPP centre or brainstorming session for YPP staff
  • Hot catered lunch included 

  • Three afternoon sessions options include:
    • Reconciliation and Indigenous Place in the Early Years by Kristin Webster
    • Interactive Dialogue with MCFD Staff and presentation of APSYP Survey results
    • Encouraging Attachment Parenting with Young Fathers by Greg McDonnell
  • Connecting opportunity including food off-site (cash bar available)
